Too many secrets.  I’m starting to think of Colonel Haulley much more sympathetically as this thing goes on.  Am I nuts?

I don’t know what it is, but I always somehow seem to be looking forward to the next season, whatever season it is.  Summer is only a few days old, and I already find myself longing for the autumn.  I have friends who somehow manage to take off for entire seasons at a time, and go on biking tours of exotic parts of the continent I’ll never see, and here, I go on extended hours to make sure I get houses built before Hurricane Season.  When did I grow up?  God.

Yeah, well, inasmuch as I don’t have a whole lot to add to this page, which pretty well speaks for itself, I do have some new developments that I’m going through that I thought I’d lay out for you all, to make sure you all know what’s up.

First, I think I’m basically going to be wrapping up Vicious Print in the next few weeks.  For me, it’s served its purpose, and is now kind of a drag to maintain.  Originally, I never thought the comic would be more popular than the blog, and then, I never thought the blog would be popular at all.  Now, granted, “popular” is a pretty limited term when it comes to a long-form science fiction comic that draws maybe a thousand readers a week, worldwide.  However, over the past few weeks, I’ve been slapping down a large number of brute force attacks on that blog as people in certain inclement parts of Asia have been trying to take it over, probably for spamming and malware purposes, and I’m pretty much sick of doing that for a blog I rarely have the time or energy to update anymore.  And with summer coming around, we’re entering a typical lull in readership as people go on vacation and such, and so it seems a good time to make these changes.

So, the first thing you’ll notice is that my independent blog up at the root domain at viciousprint.com is going to fold up over the next few weeks, and I’ll redirect the traffic here instead.  After that, well, we’ll see.  I’m taking it one step at a time.  I will, however, be bending every effort to ensure that there is no undue interruption to the lovely 6-Commando service you’ve come to know and cherish.  Except maybe for next week.  But I’ll get to that later, if it happens.

So, anyhow, that’s where we are.  Be ready for some changes, but don’t expect them to happen too soon, or be terribly major for a while.

As for me, it’s time for another long week.  Whew.  What a thing!

All the best, folks.
